Hello there neighbour! I wanted to introduce myself to you and touch on my previous experience working in the community. I spent 2017 to late 2022 working in the Saskatoon Media Group/CJWW Newsroom as a reporter and the main weekend anchor. I covered the bulk of all city council meetings during that time and have been part of news conferences and conversations with many of those who sit on city council. After that, I moved onto the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Students' Association where I currently work as their Events and Marketing Coordinator. I currently serve on the Pacific Heights Community Association and the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre's Community Advisory Council. In the past I have served on the Snowberry Downs Condominium Board and I have helped with the Riversdale Community Fridge in addition to organizing a number of food drives. WHO I AM & MY PLATFORM
I'm a 26 year-old born and raised on Saskatoon's west side. More often than not I see myself on the outside looking in when it comes to civic issues. That's why this fall, I'm running to be your new city councillor for Saskatoon's Ward 3 so I can be on the inside and have the opportunity to offer the west side a better opportunity to grow, succeed and thrive. I want to advocate and see safer transit in Saskatoon, including a proper BRT system. With that said, I also want to lay the ground work for a future LRT system in our city. Homelessness is front and center in our city these days. Yes, the city has a role to play - but ultimately it's up to the province to implement a proactive , multi-step approach to address mental health & addictions. I do believe the STC can operate a homeless shelter, but that location cannot be Fairhaven, nor downtown. Speaking of downtown, I'm all for a new arena, however this cannot happen on the backs of taxpayers. Massive private funding will have drive this project in order for it to become a reality. I truly do think Saskatoon can be a world-class city and that starts right here in Ward 3.
